Costa Loreto and the historic town of Loreto sit at the physical and cultural center of a long part of Baja California Sur’s Sea of Cortez coastline, sharing the environmentally protected Loreto Bay with The Villages at Loreto Bay a few miles south. There are properties available at the spectacular natural harbor called Puerto Escondido at the south end of the Bay, at nearby rustic El Juncalito with its two snorkeling bays and beautiful sand beaches, farther south at and around Ligui and the new resort called Villas del Palmar Loreto on the Ensenada Blanca bay, and still further south at difficult-to-reach but spectacular places like San Cosme and Agua Verde, which can be reached either by boat from Ligui or by a 40 km. well-maintained dirt road. To the north of Loreto are Bahia Concepcion, with its beautiful chain of small sand-harbor bays and inlets, and the towns of Mulege and Santa Rosalia. In that northern area are lots our project’s agents have listed in Punta Suenos, at the north end of Bahia Concepcion, and another lot project called The Cove, just south of Santa Rosalia. These are more rural and rustic, but offer compensating solitude and a sense of the Old Baja that is increasingly difficult to find.
