Image DescriptionCOSTA LORETO is a master planned development, centered around a planned 250-slip marina, on the shore of the Bay of Loreto – an environmentally protected marine park under Mexican law – on the north edge of the city of Loreto.   The undeveloped 86 hectareas (roughly 215 acres) of the project, including about 600 meters of beachfront and an existing government “concession” to build the marina, serviced by all municipal services, are offered for sale for $30M US.

Costa Loreto is also neighborhoods, and individual lots and homes, including:   single family lots and existing homes in the subdevelopment called Los Cimarrones; single family building lots and one or more existing homes in the subdevelopment called Jesuitas;  a subdevelopment parcel of 1.2 hectareas (about 3 acres) called Villa Julieta, offering over 120 meters of beach and canal frontage and space for a planned five or six luxury residences, plus 40 or so luxury condominiums;  and the spectacular existing Villa Frida, developer’s own beachfront luxury residence within the Villa Julieta subdevelopment.

Details on these properties, including the 86 hectarea and 1.2 hectarea parcels, and Villa Frida, can been seen on www.misionloreto.com, the website for Mision Loreto Properties, the  agency which exclusively represents the developer.

While there are other fine developments in the area, Costa Loreto is unique in that it is located literally at the edge of the city of Loreto, within walking distance into the core of town instead of requiring a car or taxi ride.

The county (Muncipio) of Loreto has 139 miles of shoreline, 5 islands and several smaller islets.  It is a boater’s paradise with countless sandy coves, anchorages and a variety of developed places to stop as well.

The Development Master PlanThe Loreto Region

“Loreto is located on the Sea of Cortez in the southern half of Baja California. The territory of the municipality of Loreto is 4,311 km2 with approximately 270 kilometers of coastline, including the offshore islands. The region of Loreto houses approximately 15,000 people, of which over 80%live in the town of Loreto.

Loreto is, in 2011, a high priority for development as a tourist mecca. The Mexican government through FONATUR, has made large investments to the area in the past, providing an international airport, a golf course, a marina, and urban and hotel infrastructure, and new efforts and initiatives are under way.
